Like the U.S. Navy, veterans who had served in the Coastguard and the Merchant Navy too were exposed to the same dangers of asbestos exposure.
Also, the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army had widely used asbestos in their aircraft as well as vehicles and establishments. So these veterans too were susceptible to having contracted mesothelioma while in service.
